Amanda came to yoga in 2001 after being involved in a serious motorbike accident, she had been suffering from various side effects for 2 years, her first yoga class was an amazing experience and helped ease her injuries, and she has been practicing yoga ever since.

Amanda has a YA 500 hours accreditation through a Yoga Arts teacher training, 200 hours in 2004 and 300 hours in 2005, although it was not until a Yoga teacher training with Sarah Powers in 2006 that Amanda felt ready to teach.

Amanda is an enthusiastic and devoted yoga practitioner and an experienced and qualified teacher, she loves to teach, bringing a lightness to her classes, making them an enjoyable but learned experience. Her study is ongoing, she partakes in at least one residential Yoga or Meditation retreat a year, and continues to further her own knowledge and is registered with the Sarah Powers Insight Yoga Institute.

You will be guided through a flowing sequence of poses from the Sun Salutations.  Holding standing poses for time, cultivating better body awareness.  Potentially creating a better posture, and more core strength to support areas of your body such as the lower back.  Increased flexibility, by moving your body into shapes to your appropriate edge, breathing and relaxing into those places.  Finishing with some postures on the floor and savasana.  Amanda likes to teach with a theme of mindfulness,  honouring your body by being present, so there will be variations suggested for some poses.
